1. Who we are
ebookfrom.me operates ebookfrom.me and is the data controller for personal data processed through this service.
Contact email: [email protected]
Registered address: to be published before public launch.
2. What we process
We keep data use narrow and tied to running the service, securing it, and measuring whether our acquisition pages work.
- Account and sign-in data: email address and magic-link authentication events.
- Job metadata: file name, status, selected template, inscription payload, timestamps, and technical diagnostics.
- Uploaded EPUB files: processed temporarily and auto-deleted after 60 minutes.
- Generated EPUB outputs: retained up to 30 days only when needed for recipient email delivery links.
- Payments and credits: Stripe checkout/session identifiers, credit transactions, and purchase status.
- Business interest form data: email address, name, company, role, use case, estimated personalized EPUB volume, feature interests, message, source page, timestamp, and account link if you are signed in.
- Security and reliability data: rate-limit counters, hashed email values used for anti-abuse controls, IP-derived logs.
- Public-site measurement data: pages visited, referral or campaign attribution data, browser/device details, and interactions with key buttons such as our main call to action.
3. Why we process data (legal bases)
- To provide the service you request (contract performance), including sign-in, upload, build, and download.
- To secure the service and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), including throttling and fraud prevention.
- To understand whether landing pages and campaigns lead to key actions, including CTA clicks (consent where required for non-essential cookies or Google measurement).
- To evaluate business/pro demand and contact you about requested early access or related product conversations.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations, including payment and tax records.
- To communicate service messages related to your account and purchases.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with processors needed to operate the platform, such as:
- Email delivery provider (magic-link delivery).
- Payment provider (Stripe) for credit purchases.
- Infrastructure/storage providers used to host and deliver the service.
- Google, when you accept advertising/measurement cookies, for ad attribution and conversion measurement.
5. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EEA. Where applicable, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual safeguards.
6. Retention
- Uploaded EPUB files: deleted automatically after 60 minutes.
- Generated EPUB outputs: deleted automatically at most 30 days after build when recipient-link retention applies.
- Expired job rows are retained for service analytics and anti-abuse statistics, but inscription payload and ebook metadata are cleared/anonymized.
- When a job expires, identifying file details such as original filename and file checksum are removed from that row.
- Business interest form data: retained while we evaluate business/pro demand and follow up about early access, then deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed.
- Account, payment, and audit records: retained only as long as needed for service, legal, and security purposes.
- Your cookie preference is stored for up to 180 days unless you change it sooner.
